YOUTH PHILADELPHIA MISSION TRIP

The youth Philadelphia Mission Trip will be April 22-26, 2019!

It costs $250 which covers lodging, food throughout the week, and travel!  Students are encouraged to bring approximately $50 for food traveling to and from Philadelphia and a special meal during the week.  All payments can be made with cash, check, or money order.

ALL SLOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED FOR THE PHILADELPHIA MISSION TRIP and registration is currently closed.

We are creating a wait list in case another student cannot keep the commitment to go.  If we have enough people added to it, we may be able to add another van.

If you would like to put your student on a "wait list" please email Kyle at kyle.johnson@wordtab.net with the subject line

"philadelphia wait list" and in the body of the email simply put your child's name AND your phone number.  Those on the wait list will be selected by a first come, first serve basis to replace any student who already signed up but may not be able to come.

PHILADELPHIA GENERAL INFORMATION

COST AND PAYMENTS

The trip costs $250 which covers van rentals, housing, and general meals for the WHOLE WEEK!

  • Families can make this payment in bulk or they can make weekly/monthly payments to alleviate any financial strain.

  • All payments can be made via cash/check/money order.

  • Checks can be made out to Word Tabernacle Church.

  • We do not want financial reasons to hinder a student's ability to serve and participate.  IF your family needs some support, contact Kyle at kyle.johnson@wordtab.net.  This isn't a guarantee full coverage, but we are working to make sure everyone who has a heart to serve can.

Students are encouraged to bring at least $50 with them for "quick stop" meals during travel to and from Philadelphia as well as for some special meals while in the city.

In addition to $50 in general food costs, families are welcome to give additional money "general items" they may want to purchase in travels and experiences...this is not mandatory in any way

SPONSOR A STUDENT

We have amazing students who have a heart to serve!  We believe that they will be impacted while also impacting others through the mission trip!

Some of their families are not able to cover the total $250 cost.  Are you able and willing to support them?  You can make donations to the youth ministry and mission trips through the following options...

-Sunday Morning, in the "other" portion of your envelope, put "youth mission"

-Give Cash/Check/Money Order to Kyle.  Checks can be made out to Word Tabernacle Church

Donations are given to the student ministries and we will apply it to the accounts of students who need support and to financially support the work of the mission.

PRAYER AND COMMISIONING DURING 10AM SERVICE

All missionaries who will take part in the Philadelphia mission trip will be prayed for as a "sending out" during the 10 am service on the Sunday before the mission trip.

Families can decorate this bag with their missionary or the missionary can decorate it themselves.  Feel free to make it as personally designed and unique as you feel!  We encourage families to write prayers, scriptures, and words of encouragement on one side and have students to create their own personal design on the other side.

WHAT TO PACK

•    Bible, Notebook, Pen/Pencil
•    The lodging provides basic Sleeping Material to go along with the bunk beds but feel free to pack minimal blanket and pillow.
•    Towel and wash cloth
•    Toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush,  toothpaste, etc.
•    Shower shoes ($1/$5 flip flops from Walmart will work)
•    A plastic bag for dirty/wet towels and clothes.  A trash bag is recommended as you will have dirty clothes each day.

Clothes to Pack
o    Weather appropriate and modest clothing: please check the weather before you pack for the trip in case you may need to pack something weather specific (ex: sweatshirt, umbrella, pants).  All events are casual dress.
o    As you choose clothing that is comfortable, please do not sacrifice modesty.  Wear clothing you do not mind getting dirty.
o     Students can change into comfortable “loungewear” which can range from jeans to sweatpants/shorts around the lodging space, but we will not be the only people on the campus.  Again, you will be in mixed company so it needs to be appropriate for engagement, You won’t need to “dress to impress”

WHEN TO ARRIVE AND DEPART

•    Students will be dropped off at WTC on Monday morning.  We will travel to Philadelphia on Monday and we will travel back on Friday, arriving approximately at 9pm depending on traffic.
